# How usage is billed

> Plan credits, top-up credits, and how calls consume your balance

## The prepaid model

Usage is billed in **credits** against a prepaid balance. Your balance fills from three sources:

1. **Included plan credits** — credited each time your plan invoice is paid.
2. **Top-ups** — one-off or automatic credit purchases.
3. **Transfers** — credits received from your workspace admin.

Plan credits are used first and expire with the billing period. Purchased credits roll over. Every deduction is itemized with a customer-facing description; internal payment and infrastructure references are never shown.

## What a call consumes

Calls consume credits according to the effective workspace rate:

* Voice time is charged in credits per minute using the platform's rounding rules.
* Calls through managed phone numbers may use a destination-dependent credit rate.
* Web calls do not include a managed-number component.

  Calls over your **own SIP trunk** ([BYO](/telephony/sip-trunks)) are still charged for voice time. Your own carrier bills its connection charges separately.

## Usage transparency

* **Usage** shows consumption per day, per assistant, and per call.
* Every call detail includes its exact duration and the resulting deduction.
* Workspace admins see usage and credit consumption.

Resellers set their own end-customer prices in [their plans](/admin/plans-and-limits). End-customer invoices, branding, payments, and top-ups remain in the reseller's connected billing account.
